If there is a slight disturbance in the movement of birds, it may result in lameness, and if it is severe enough to prevent the bird from moving, it is called paralysis. Lameness itself is divided into two types: clinical or apparent lameness, and subclinical or non-apparent lameness. In subclinical lameness, the bird actually tolerates the pain and discomfort caused by lameness, but we do not notice the problem externally.

When we observe lameness in some birds, we should be aware that a larger number may suffer from subclinical lameness, which can ultimately lead to a decrease in the overall performance of the flock.
